What is Vedic Satsang: ATX, and why did I start it to begin with? 

That is a very good question!

After moving to the Austin Metro area a couple of years ago, we knew that it was time for us to put down our permanent roots. As part of that, we also knew it was time to get established with a spiritual home and find our community of like-minded seekers. However, after attending many of the locally available spiritual groups, it became clear that none of them felt like "home" to us. Having been to MANY various ashrams and swamis/gurus over the years, we didn't want to be limited to just "one" teacher, philosophy or yogic path!

Therefore, we decided to create our own community instead. We did want to reflect our dedication to Vedic based paths overall (hence the name), rather than make yet another "new age"/ all-inclusive spirituality meet up group where we were mixing yoga, Buddhism with Native American traditions, Wicca, etc. While we certainly love and respect everyone's journey, at the end of the day, we felt it was time for a deep dive in one area, rather than dabbling in a little bit of everything.

That being said, we did want a place where Hatha Yogis, Bhaktas, Jnanis, Tantrikas, Kundalini Yogis, Interested Westerners, Desis and native-born Hindus (Indian, Nepali, etc) would all feel comfortable coming together under one roof for friendship, community and fellowship. The Sadhana journey can be a lonely one in this world, and we could all use a little "help from our friends"!
